new job/new convert

so i started my new job at blue barracuda yesterday and already am trading crochet lessons for fresh baked brownie goodness! my lovely office manager lucy has wanted to learn for ages - so we start next monday...and lucky for me my new place is just opposite the age concern charity shop where i buy my £1 a ball bright coloured acrylic...

...which is all the better to make baby toys with!
i've got to make a quick baby shower gift but don't know the sex of the baby yet so it'll be bright bright bright instead maybe...figure i can knock up one of those 12 pointed celestial stars in time - fingers crossed.

and i've pretty much finished my mom's shrug - just need to put the side seams in!

john lewis has some lovely cottons and crochet patterns where the rowan display used to be! whohoo! i bought a bit of the gedifra samina to use on my freeform crochet-a-long project...which seems to be coming along okay...monday is new clue day! so excited to see what we will be doing this week.

loving it!

tooo much on and not enough time - i'm literally jonesing to keep working on my latest human hair scarf project - its supposed to be for the new blondeboy but he's already worried about the glint in my eye! its out of noro kureyon and the trim will be some of my old dreadlocks - i can't wait to finish it...

it's my second human hair creation and i've already had alot of interest - and as i can't grow hair/dreadlocks very quickly i reckon £1k is a good asking price. so far no one has coughed when i've quoted it - and not bad considering that woman is selling a crocheted plate of (very flat) fish and chips at libery for a bout £600.

absolute bargain!

so why the heck am i so busy?
well new blondeboy mostly and our 6 day weekends, lol - he came to visit and stayed from thursday to tuesday and it was absolutely heaven. 24/7 with only one wobble but that was more daughter induced than lover...phew.

and this whole university thing.
i'm loving it and it's interesting but really slow going...next week we start on the gender stuff so i'll take in a pile of books - included in the pile will be ones that i've edited/written...do you think i can get written off for the gender section maybe???

and finally - my flat!!!
i ordered the new bathroom yesterday, and re-designed my kitchen to match, and they can start on monday - so in 2 weeks i should have a kitchen i'm not ashamed of...but it means i need to clear 20 years of comics and crochet patterns out of the cupboards TONIGHT.

because i want to get the heckout of london as soon as i deliver this new web product tomoro night! we've only been apart 2 days but i miss him horridly - and he's perfect for me as he's a craftsperson for a living - think white trash sex bomb gaudi and that is him! and he layed in bed watching me crochet for hours on sunday morning...and kept telling me how hot i am - he obviously has a hooker fetish.

sunday funday.

well, bake camp was fun...to a point.
great baking - lots of lovely champagne - and lovely friends.
but all these friends are settled down, living with their partners, and have numerous degrees each - and are younger. i'm sitting here with no qualifications to speak of, with a relationship that is so far from living together that i'm still thinking i'll need a flatmate soon to help with the bills - and the loneliness...i really wished that i'd fitted in more.

so am looking at birkbeck to maybe study something like this economics course as it inter disciplinary so 'd probably find it quite interesting. but the relationship thing i really can't push anymore - as much as i want to...

and one good thing that came out of bake camp - i think i'll add it to my weekly rituals!

altho before gym tomoro i want to buy some new 2ply yarn to make myself a nice patchwork stole of the arcade diamond medallions/granny squares. really need something for summer!

i really really really want to go to the stitch and bitch at the maple leaf on monday evening after work as its just on the other side of covent garden...but i don't think i know anyone that goes along to this group and a few people i know that have tried it have said that they pretty much live up to their name and its quite cliquey and hard to break into...but i want to go along and form my own opinion!

o dear.
guess i could just go along for a drink and if i feel comfortable i could whip out my crochet.

or is there anyone reading this that goes along that i could tag along with please?
