knitroast was interesting today...
i came pretty much straight off the eurostar and popped in - and even though only four of us were there it was lovely. then, walking home i realised that another knitroaster is a neighbour (i'm waving at her out my front window...yoohoo! lol).

which made me think - everyone that showed up today were local bloomsbury residents...we should start our own little craft mafia!

baby bear...

so now i've been making baby bear cub hats - completely out of season, but am working out the sizing for bigger sizes than the pattern covers. i've given a size 6-12 mos to my director to try out on one of his twins, and then will meet up with my ex boss on thursday to drop off the 12-18 mos size on my way to relationship therapy...and if i'm in any shape to do it afterwards i will come out and drink margaritas with the iknitters.

if not, then you know next week for sure as its trans night at the pub across the street!

giving up eggs for lent!

i really really really cannot bring myself to crochet another easter egg...well, maybe another pirate one for my friends' baby girl nemi!

on my own

went to my first private reltionship session last night and the therapist asked me if i thought it helped and i had to say NO because i don't really think that i got anything out of it at all...she did point out though that when 'm at the couples sessions that i'm very emotional, but when i'm alone i'm very different and detached - interesting but i have no idea what that means...

ugh

it gets even worse...my ex husband passed away and i just found out via facebook after cutting out of my friend vix's hen party.

i'm off to a hen party tonight, where i will be surrounded by lovely ladies who are excited by love. i really wish that i could be, but things still aren't perfect with me and the fiance...so i made another comic strip about it.

i am taking the bride to be a nice crocheted black pop heart with a big lovely hat pin stuck in it all voodoo stylee and will write up a card about how the true roots of sticking pins in voodoo dolls wasn't evil at all but to instill love and healing intended for the person the doll focussed on. there is a bit on it here, not alot tho!

margaritaville

well, i accomplished it!
i managed to get my bestest knitroast friend a yummy frozen margarita and a chimichanga too!!

spent the afternoon with my daughter and her in cafe pacifico, then onto the dial bar and then over to first out. wow - my life does go in cycles and i love how i'm getting back in touch with that part of my community - i've spent 2 years with my head down and dealing with so much other shit that i've forgotten my girlie roots. so am now off to surf and find a nice platonic holiday to sitges for us!

as well as make myself a new cloche hat.

i am so loving watching my worlds collide. my techie digital girlies coming along to knitclub and hanging out with my new bestest ever knitbuddy as well as the man with the legendary legs at transnight at the bar and drinking margaritas to toast my good health news...then sitting at waterloo station stealing some cop's french fries.

yarnpunk weekend!

sooo...what a weekend!
friday was eventually spent in soho yarn shopping and stitching and bitching and getting tattooed. we hit up all the fun of the fair for me to replenish my supply of yellow to make more yarn bombing easter eggs. and i face to faced with the lovely gemma there that i'd been talking to on ravelry just that morning. we also met a cute girlie who is doing a digital knitwear course so dragged her along to the ship with us to drink and crochet our waiting time til the lovely stewart robson at frith street could tattoo us matching biohazard symbols.



of course we also took over a corner of the tattoo shop while we were waiting and all the staff loved the idea of me yarnbombing soho with crocheted easter eggs. well, except for the owner dante who said it was just a posh way of littering! lol...so guess who has a surprise pink and yello striped easter egg hidden away at the back of their cupboard!

next day was pretty much rinse and repeat but this time it was my lovely newest best friendliest knitroaster getting tattooed by gino at diamond jacks...then much veggie fajita fun was had by all! (photos to follow - i finally found my camera in fishwhiskers' yarn bag!!!)

sunday and the lovely fiance met up with us and we saw the fishie off back to bristol with a wave and saunter back home via the queen. and i got a buckingham palace thimble for my collection!
