run run runaway

i'm sorry i won't be making this evening at iknit...i'm not really up for going it alone just yet and i should go home and pack anyway for my runaway punker weekend with fishwhiskers!  i've got alot to get together...my toiletries and milk thistly and prozac and codeine and vicodin and any other medication for a broken heart that i can find...and dandelion tea.  altho why bother?  i'd rather my liver exploded the life i have right now.

and i must pack ALOT of crochet...fishie is another crochet fiend and i don't want to run out of anything.  will work on my dalek and take some other patterns/ideas like cherry pie slices and big flowery scarves and other things...i'm still working on skully squares even though now i've no idea if it will ever be a living together present - so i've come up with an alternative plan that's been inspired by the hoxton girlies...

crochet graffiti...so if you see little bright skulls and crossbones sewn to street furniture you know that i'm definitely single (which means also drunk and pain-dulled).

but still not a bad idea is it?

o and i also need to try to haul fish's gear she when she was here for pirate halloween...so probably won't be taking any sort of laptop  -  unless i buy that little small samsung that i've been lusting after since before xmas!

sorry i left so early tonight...

and thanks to those that were so sweet to me and understanding and told me to get it all out...but there was alot to get out - i'd beeen holding it in for days. it was my first real hard cry since the fiance and i have been having problems.

he got made redundant. things were wierd. then i overreacted to something he said and it's sooo much worse now. more worse than i could ever imagine...and it's strange because i really feel like i've let myself down. and him.

he's taken such good care of me and now i'm not doing a very good job. i just keep working on the skully blanket and hope that it's still a living together gift.

so...i'll be back out when i can.

just barely home...

at least its in time for 24 - even though i'm sky plussing it anyway as thought i'd make it to cafe stitch tonight...but no.

so must must must must must make it to hoxton knitters tomoro night. although i reckon i'm now just making superfluous skully squares.

i REALLY have to find another pub project asap.

knit/nut roast

mmm...yum!
sunday knitroast is now definitely a tie for my ffavourite all time stitch and bitch ever - thank goodness that the crown and two chairmen put the heat on for us today...but unfortunately they ran out of their lovly nutroast. the chipotle pies are just as good though! i know because i sampled the one on fingersandtoes' plate! so lovely to meet her in the flesh and hear about her latest adventures.

then home and onto deal with life.
needed a martini.

will fill you all in later...am bedded down in front of the tv for the rest of sunday
(with laptop and crochet of course)

easy like sunday morning...

its knitroast day!
i am so looking forward to spending a long afternoon with the iknitters in a lovely soho pub - crochet and nutroast - yum!
and i'm hoping that my daughter will come along too.
see you all soon xxx

it's not a secret!

so...went to my friends' wedding party tonight and presented them with the crocheted dalek and i'm not sure if they loved it, but everyone else did and i will now be making one for my lovely friend anno spaceboy and her wifey. after all, they were the ones that sent me the pattern in the first place so it's only fair!

while at the wedding party i also recruited another 2 inhabitants of the silicone roundabout to attend the hoxton knit at prague bar on tuesday evenings...so my lovely friends kerrching and mildlydiverting will be coming along too.

i better slow down on tellng my friends what a great group it is or we'll soon be running out of spaces to sit!

just rafrasilecs come along next week, i miss not stitching with my lovely fiance, and i really want to get on planning our wedding!

if its tuesday it must be prague...

headed down to hoxton knitters again tonight and i'm still feeling it is my fvourite stitch and bitch so far! i really like prague bar - good beer, nice people and excellent tunes - and the louder the music gets the more crochet i seem to get through!

last thursday's iknit was just as nice too...but sooo packed out that rafrasilecs and i decided to head across the street to the pub for a couple and hoped for it to thin out...i had a lovely cocktail made of gran marnier, lime, and red chili! do have to say i was more than a bit tipsy just from the one by the time i got back to iknit. luckily it was no longer standing room only and i got to catch up with the lovely yvonne stash.

won't be making it this thursday though as i've got a wedding party to attend...and i've finished a lovely crocheted dalek as a present. my friends are going to love it!

now back to the tv coverage of today's obama inauguration.

shoes boos and tattoos

last night so far has been my best most favourite stitch and bitch ever!
well...besides the iknit sunday knitroast at the pub in soho but it only loses marks as its freezing in there...but i finally went along to prague bar and it was so nice to be around alot of women that i just immediately felt comfortable with! that's not say i don't cherish the others i've met up with elsewhere - especially my lovely celia in anaheim.

so i was sitting there with everyone in the window of prague bar in shoreditch crocheting another skully square (more below) and my lovely friend fanny minka saw me and popped in!  fanny is the one i'm going to leave alll my shoes to when i die as we are exactly the same size and she looks so good in them...i just wish i was as thin as her and with the same sense of style!

squares:
i must have enough to finish off the blanket now for rafrasiles!
but whatever will i take along for my pub crocheting when this is done?
all i can think of is to maybe make a lovely sampler afghan of crochet stitches as there are sooo many lovely stitches out there that i want to try and may never incorporate into a project otherwise.  i also want to experiment more with texture and doing embossed type alpahabets (thanks to ppl on ravelry for patterns!) to do some crocheted thank you cards.

and reminder to self:
collect plastic carrier bags from everyone at work for recycled crochet projects!
i think i want to make some bowls for the office/x

Jan 12, 2009

sooo...NSFW

i started my first weddin' present dalek!
can't believe that the lovely amdowns has made the pattern free online
(donation to a good cause if able)

i've started the blue boy dalek, and am making him out of that caron eco yarn that is made of recycled plastic bottles. do have to confess that it's my new favourite. its so yummy and its nice to know my crocheted nic nads aren't impacting too much on the planet.

does anyone know of any recycled fiber toy stuffing?
i usually use beans but probably not best for this as its quite holey so the dalek might poo them out.

o and has anyone ever seen this porn film?
ejaculate! ejaculate!

i've been really inspired...

i do have to say that someone i met at the royal festival hall last week has really got me thinking and i wish that i had her details...fingers crossed that our paths cross again because i'd really like to let her know.

she was knitting a shopping bag out of strips of plastic carrier bags! so ever since i've started a bag to put nice bags in to use in the future...i'm thinking of maybe crocheting wierd nic-nacs out of the stuff!

Jan 8, 2009

hmmm...

just back from the big london new year stitch and bitch at the south bank (and eating some chili noodles to warm up).

it was my first time and i made a special effort as it was their big new year welcome night and i had a good night...

...but i can definitely see how other knitclubbers could find it a bit cliquey...

i know it was really really really really busy, taking up about a quarter of the royal festival hall foyer, so i didn't really expect a personal warm welcome. yet when one of the organiser girlies came over to our table to say hello to a fello knitter who had attended previously, i said hi and that it was my first time and how amazingly busy it was. organiser girlie pretty much blanked me.

weird - especially as it was an advertised newbie night.
(not surprised tho after what i'd heard from others)

but hey ho.
i made a few new friends that are lovely and i hope to cross paths with again another time.

maybe even there again - tonight coulda just been an anomaly as it was sooo busy?

all the other stitch and bitches i've been to have been so great so will definitely give london another chance!

Jan 7, 2009

back in london...

and just barely sorted so have missed knitclub...boo!
tomoro i have to show up bright at early at our shiny new bright lovely office building which is soooo exciting as i'll be down clerkenwell so just a busride to both iknit at waterloo and the prague bar stitchy bitchy.

hope all my friends new and old have had a great start to the new year! xxx

ps - yes my suitcase is full of shoes, lingerie, and crafty vixen bits...lol
